Are u the primary or dependant. If you are the dependant no issues cool and enjoy time with baby. If you are the primary then no issues till you get the GC. For primary it is not mandatory to work during the time 485 is pending. But once GC is approved then u need to start full time position with the employer.

Hi All,
I was sponsored by Company A. Also they are sponsoring my GC. I have a pending i-485 since my PD is Nov2006.
Company B has bought Company A. What should I do now?
1) Do I have to ask them to file a fresh H1?
2) how would the GC process be transfered to the new company that took over?
I asked the greedy owner of company A (my so called sponsorer, but as usual I paid for all the expenses), he said there is no problem with regards to my immigration status.
Can someone shed some light on this scenario?

After 09/18 I got NUD almost everyday until today

My question is, will my previous donations entitle me a DONOR status?

In order for us to encourage people to contrbute we started the donor system. We are encouraging people to contribute 25 dollar per month to subscribe. If they pay more say- 100, then it will give them subscription for 4 months.
we have just started this system and hope to fine tune and improve and also provide more services to all our members.
We are trying not to include past contributions because it will get tough for us to get future contributions that we can invest in IV for all future and current initiatives.

I understand your frustration, but its like holding IV responsible for getting your GC - that does not seem right.
Contributing now is important; and after getting gc's, its equally important to support the people who are still stuck in the process.
Yeah I agree, I'm a regular donor anyway. If my GC is getting delayed, then for every year after 2012 I would cut my rent by 100-200 a month :) All other expenses too.

But I think it's thanks to CBN who pulled the consulate to Hyd when they were debating to have the consulate in Hyd or Bangalore. From what I know YSR govt just boomed up the realty prices but nothing else, though realty went up in other parts of the country too.
PS: I'm not very sure if it was CBN who got the consulate to Hyd but just expressed my thoughts as we are talking about consulate/Hyd/how proud we should be etc in this thread.For those who know better or disagree with me please feel free to do so by posting in the thread but not by giving red/accompanying mssgs. These days I'm so cautious that unless absolutely sure I don't take any chances with posting on threads so as to avoid upsetting people even remotely. Felt it's been long since I've been easy on IV threads..so I'm posting on this thread :)

If you don't send the name change request with supporting documents before your wife's I485 is approved you will end up spending another $370 for filing I90 ( the fees includes bimetrics fees which is mandatory for I90)

You can get 1099 MISC on H1B and also include that in your tax returns. You need to file a separate form though. I have done this before and confirmed with my attny that there should be no issues with that. The only thing that is important is that the income must be of a passive type.

I think I am in the same boat,
I am almost ready to file 3 years H-1 extension based on I-140 approval and priority date not current (as of day before yesterday that is what we all knew). Since I don't have 365 days for the labor filing, I am not eligible for 1 year extension.
I wrote that to my lawyer and they told me that we can still file before the end of June using premium processing since the priority date are current effective July 1st. But they don't know how USCIS will act. They may approve the extension for 3 years or they may deny the extension.
What you guys suggest.
Completed initial 6 years of H-1 in December 2005
Priority Date October 19th, 2006
I-140 approval - April 13th, 2007
Current H-1 expires October 15th, 2007

I have an Olympus C2100 Ultrazoom. The real focal length of the lens is given as 7mm to 70mm (38mm to 380mm on 35mm equiv). When I operate the zoom lever, a bar appears in the viewfinder with T at the top and W at the bottom. Can I assume that this scale will be linear in terms of the focal length ie if the number of steps between W and T is 30, would each step increase the focal length by 63/30 mm (=(70-7)/30)? This would,however, mean that my standard 50mm equivalent focal length would be only one step up from the W end of the scale, which does not ring true. In which case, is there an easy way to 'calibrate ' this scale?

From IRS point of view, parents are considered dependents if you are taking care of them at home. You could bring them on visitor VISA mentioning that they will be here for medical treatment. You may have to show proof of Insurance etc ... in the affidavit of support. Medical exprenses are costly here. That is the only problem.

Good idea Lecter. A bit like remembering to tell your wife how she looks (caution advised) I have no problem with posting comments. I absolutely love to stare at the beautiful images on this site. From my novice perspective, they are just about all in the impressive to brilliant range. I get a lot of inspiration & ideas from you guys. The webmasters stunning sports & concert photography. Paul Popes absolutely knock out, whatever he does stuff. Don & Pressmans outstanding digital darkroom magic (Pressmans Exmoor phots are out of this world) Lecters I WANT TO BE THERE RIGHT NOW! phots. Bob Gleasons super sports images & across the board versatility. I particularly take note of Bobs stuff because I know he hasn't been shooting that long, so his learning curve has been pretty meteoric.
