There is an unconfirmed source of information that a couple of restrictionist U.S. Senators influenced the USCIS decision to reject July applications for their alleged fear that since July 2007 Visa Bulletin would open a flood gate of hundreds of thousands of 485 applications, the public might take it as the government giving out a sort of "amnesty" to these floods of people. We hope that there is no truth to such rumor. However, if it is true, it is indeed shocking that individual legislators could interfere with the government process on "personal" basis and without the formal legislative process of public notice and participation. We urge the U.S. Senate to get to the bottom of this rumor and take appropriate action for correction under the Senate rules.

Why would one get a LUD on an OLD h1 with no LUD on anything else?
Just got CRIS email/LUD (no status change) on an old h1b that had no status change since Oct 2004. No LUD on the I140/485 or anything else. Only thing that makes sense to me is that my H1b is about to expire on dec 10 so maybe it has to do with that?
Anyone else have a similar experience. it's a little nerve wrecking.
Even I had a soft LUD on my old H1 which was expired and was approved way back in May 2004.

I dont think that the USCIS can staff all the Port of Entries with officers who are well versed in every single visa type.
It can hardly be expected that a typical POE officer is aware of all the requirements and intricasies of the H1B visa; LCA, prevaling wage, bench, client/employer, paystubs, client letter etc.
Nevertheless it is possible that there might be some POE officers placed at certain places (strategically ? ) in light of recent efforts to enforce H1B and DOL regulations more stringently; especially in light of the recent report highlighting the large amount of frauds and violations in the H1B program. In that case; one should still be fine if one has long term client project, all paystubs, tax returns etc.
Is there any way Immigration voice can find out if there has been a change of policy to enforce H1B regulations at the Port of Entry? (In addition to consular interviews and applying for the H1B itself)

Check out data for China. It shows significant reduction from last month. Expectations are low for India but China will advance a lot in July.
This is done in preparation for the spill over (fall down); they have used up all of "china's own" numbers and now they will actually retrogress EB2 China (to move it along with EB2 India) to distribute spillover (fall down); the VB will come with a "long explanation" as to why the retrogression for EB2 China despite of low demand....

Hi, there is nothin' to be confused about. There are many many student here who cant speak English well, in fact, most of my spanish/latinos/germans friends have issues taking classes here but they manage so why cant my friend !! Her spoken English is fair but when it comes to writing she really has to work hard on it..anyways, as for her Aunt:
-The affidavit that her aunt signed along with her bank stmts attached had two parts. The first one only asked the sponsor to check whether he/she will fully support or partially and the second part said, 'if you're a US citizen fill out the part below' and my friend's aunt DID NOT fill that part out or claimed to be a US citizen. She also knows that she is illegal here and she cannot LIE about being legal.

Here in my city (Piracicaba - S�o Paulo/Brazil) there is a river (Piracicaba�s River) that crosses the center of the city.
I was driving near when i saw something not commom, a man fishing and giving the fishes to this "gar�as" (i don�t know the name of this bird in english). There was more or less 8 to 10 gar�as waiting the fish.
I took some photo and i post here to divide with you my friends.

Shouldn't the whole decision be given in 15 calender days ? My 7th year H1 ext was filed 11 days ago. No clue of a receipt number yet.
Mine was applied for 7 th year Ext in Regular Processing and got receipt on May 15 . Bumped to PP couple of week back got a notification on 06/20 saying request was recived for Premium Processing ,Same day recipt date was re-set to 06/20 ( earlier 05/15) .Waiting for the approval some time this week .

I am currently working for compnay A. I got selected for company B. They already started my H1B transfer. But some how I got in troouble in one offense. I already told my company about this offense, they are saying they will be able to support me on the employment point of view. I have fear in my my that if something goes wrong I may not be able to join that company.
I am curretly thinking to deny the offer. Compnay B is okay with that, only they are saying that they have to back out the paperworks i.e. probably cancel H1B transfer. Is is going to create any problem for me as my current employ is also ready to start my H1B renewal. Also I have EAD with me, is there going to be any problem for GC.

The HR should ask you for the authorization before joining or when you do the HR paperwork. They might be assuming you're a US Citizen.

Are you using "Save for web"? That removes the EXIF, use "Save as..." instead.

The lawyer should have received the receipt of I-140. It would be best to ask your lawyer a copy of the I-140 receipt for your record. Using the case number from the I-140 receipt notice you could check the status of your application online at:
